My name is Jeff Israely, and I have been a TIME magazine correspondent since 2001, first in Rome and now in Paris. Though I still write for TIME, I am now full-steam ahead on a project to launch a new global news website. This blog, News Launch Diary, aims to chronicle this effort from ground level: the nuts and bolts and high and lows of one ever eager 41-year-old journalist’s best shot at building a global news site with age-old standards and brand new eyes. And legs!
