About

My name is Jeff Israely, and I have been a TIME magazine correspondent since 2001, first in Rome and now in Paris. Though I still write for TIME, I am now full-steam ahead on a project to launch a new global news website. This blog, News Launch Diary, aims to chronicle this effort from ground level: the nuts and bolts and high and lows of one ever eager 41-year-old journalist’s best shot at building a global news site with age-old standards and brand new eyes. And legs!

A couple of colleagues are planning the same in Buenos Aires. They’re struggling but they’re gonna make it –To them, I’d be one of the supportive friends of your Nieman Lab’s story 😉
